Official website
https://navodaya.gov.inJNVST Class 11 LEST fills vacant Class 11 seats at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas - free, fully residential government schools - for students currently in Class 10 who have never studied in a JNV before. Run by the same body (NVS) as the Class 9 lateral-entry stream, historically on the same exam day, but a separate track with its own eligibility: currently studying in Class 10, not Class 8, and only open to students from the same district as the JNV they're applying to.
Mode
Offline (pen-and-paper, OMR-based)
Duration
2.5 hours
No application fee. Only open to students who have never studied in a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya before, and only for vacant Class 11 seats at the JNV in the candidate's own district - considerably more restrictive than Class 9 lateral entry.
A district-wise merit list is prepared from the test score - only students residing in and having studied in the same district as the JNV they're applying to are eligible for that school's vacant seats.
