https://www.rrbapply.gov.inRRB NTPC recruits for Indian Railways' non-technical posts (Station Master, Goods Guard, Commercial Apprentice, Junior Clerk, and others) across two parallel qualification tiers with separate notifications and CBT schedules: Graduate-level posts (bachelor's degree required) and Undergraduate-level posts (12th pass required). One of India's highest-volume recruitment exams by applicant count.
Mode
Computer-based test (CBT)
Some posts additionally require a Typing Skill Test or Aptitude Test after CBT 2.
CBT 1 is a common qualifying screen (roughly 20x vacancies shortlisted per level/community); CBT 2 (plus any post-specific skill test) determines final merit, followed by document verification and medical examination.
The minimum score needed to qualify, by category.
| Category | 2026 marks |
|---|---|
| General / EWS | 40/100 |
| OBC-NCL / SC | 30/100 |
| ST | 25/100 |
This is the minimum qualifying percentage everyone must clear, not the actual cutoff to advance - the real CBT 1 cutoff varies by RRB zone, vacancy count, and shift-wise normalization.
