Eligibility

EducationFor Stream 1 (direct recruitment, first-time candidates): you need a Bachelor's degree (any discipline) from a recognized university - open to any Indian citizen, not just Kerala residents (Kerala domicile is only required to claim state-specific reservation categories).
AgeAge must be 21-32 years for Stream 1 - standard Kerala PSC relaxations apply for reserved categories.

About Kerala PSC KAS

Kerala PSC KAS is Kerala's state civil services exam for the Kerala Administrative Service - the state-level equivalent of UPSC CSE, open to any Indian citizen (reservation-category benefits require Kerala domicile). This entry tracks Stream 1 (direct recruitment for first-time candidates); Streams 2 and 3 are separate promotion-based routes for existing state government employees, not relevant to a first-time applicant. Unlike most other state PSCs, KAS notifications have historically come at irregular, multi-year intervals rather than annually - the most recent one was released 7 March 2025, with the whole Prelims-Mains-Interview cycle running from June 2025 to January 2026.

Exam pattern

Prelims covers General Studies, Aptitude, and current affairs; Mains has multiple descriptive papers.

Selection process

Prelims marks are for screening only and don't count toward the final rank - Mains + Interview marks decide the final merit list. Kerala PSC charges no application fee for any of its recruitment exams, including KAS.
