https://nift.ac.inNIFTEE is the entrance exam for India's National Institute of Fashion Technology network - 17 campuses offering B.Des/B.FTech (and M.Des/M.FTech/MFM at PG level) in fashion and design. NTA conducts it in two components: a General Ability Test (GAT, all applicants) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT, design programs only), followed by a Group Discussion/situation test for shortlisted candidates. Around 18,000 unique candidates registered in 2025 across roughly 4,500 seats.
Mode
Computer-based test (CBT) for GAT; pen-and-paper for CAT (design programs)
PG applicants (M.Des/M.FTech/MFM) sit GAT plus a program-specific component instead of CAT.
GAT/CAT scores shortlist candidates for a Situation Test (design programs) or Group Discussion/Personal Interview (management programs), which together with the written score decide the final merit list and campus/program allotment.
